Puech des Mourgues

A reference site around Montpellier, the Puech is mainly south facing and is very pleasant in winter in good weather. Climbing style: vertical. Ideal site for beginners. The equipment is very good and was rebuilt after the 2010 fires.

• NB: by prefectural decree (13/04/1993), climbing is only authorised on the southern cliffs of the Puech

The territory of the Community of Municipalities is concerned by four Natura 2000 sites: Pic Saint-Loup, Hautes Garrigues du Montpelliérais, Gorges de l'Hérault and Lez. These geographical areas are home to natural environments and wild animal or plant species identified as rare or fragile.
