In the heart of the Pic Saint-Loup national forest, this pleasant trail leads through woods tended by the Office National des Forêts to a belvedere offering exceptional panoramic views.

This pleasant trail crosses part of the Forêt Domaniale du Pic Saint-Loup.
These woods, maintained by the Office National des Forêts, are home to a belvedere offering an exceptional panoramic view of the Pic Saint-Loup, the Thaurac plateau, Mont Aigoual, the Séranne chain (from Roc Blanc to Mont Saint-Baudille), Mont Liausson, the Pic de Vissou, with Canigou in the background in fine weather, La Gardiole, the sea and the London plain at the foot. Weather permitting, of course!
Starting point: at the edge of the D113
At the traffic circle on the D986, head towards Cazevieille.
After 300m, on the left-hand side of the road, you'll see a beautiful oak tree sheltering a picnic table.
Park there, and from the parking lot take the wide track to the right of the ONF information panel. Walk 400 m through a vast area of sheep pasture, amidst pistachio trees (grazing by the herd helps maintain the biodiversity associated with an open area).
Head for Bois des Jasses.
At the crossroads, turn left. Reach a track which you follow to the left. At the next crossroads, turn right, pass under the power line and, at the level of a grove of holm oaks, reach a grassy path, follow it to the left. It becomes stony as it enters the Bois de la Jasse and reaches a crossroads.
Two rides... Take your pick.
Start of the short variant
"Le sentier de la Jasse" (4 km, 1 h, very easy): on the left, follow the path that winds through the holm oak and white oak woods, between rocks and clearings. At the track, go left (a few meters ahead on the right: viewpoint over the Séranne).
Main route:
Go straight ahead. The path leaves the wood, widens and reaches a crossroads (view of Pic Saint-Loup). Go left for a few metres, cross a collapsed low wall and come out on a track; go left for 200m.
Access to the belvedere.
- Left access to the reservoir lookout (10 min round trip): 360° panoramic view of the Pic Saint-Loup, the Thaurac plateau, Mont Aigoual, the Seranne range (from Roc Blanc to Mont Saint-Baudille), Mont Liausson, Pic de Vissou, with Canigou in the background in fine weather, La Gardiole, the sea and the London plain at the foot.
- Returning to the main itinerary, continue into the Sauzet woods for around 1.5 km, staying on the main path. Reach a fork at the entrance to a clearing, go left for 50m.
Clearing.
Turn left onto a path parallel to the road, through a meadow dotted with trees (follow the signs). Reach a track level with the power line. Turn left, stay on the main track and reach a crossroads (on the left: arrival of the variant).
Arrival.
Go straight ahead on a stony track. At the end of the wood, turn right down a grassy path in the pasture. Cross a track and join the parking lot.
